Worst of the devotees is better than the best of the karmis

I have heard some devotees preach things like “worst of the devotees is better than the best of the karmis” and so they think even the super corrupt gbc and TPs that watch porn or take huge salaries etc are better than the “karmis”. How would you defeat this?
