Henry Doktorski and the tale of whiskey induced quotes
When you start drinking whiskey, your conclusions end up being funny.
â ïž WARNING â Alcohol-induced content ahead â ïž

In his book âKilling for Krishnaâ, on page 145 (Kindle version page numbering), Henry claims that Srila Prabhupada consistently supported the Kirtananda monster. Why would Srila Prabhupada support him? Srila Prabhupada didnât like lazies and crazies. When you drink whiskey, you start âseeing thingsâ. You might see Srila Prabhupada as racist as we saw in our previous article. You might also see Prabhupada as a supporter of Kirtanananda. But, Henry has âproofâ. Henry writes:

So, Henry provides 8 references ranging from 1969 to 1976 to prove that Srila Prabhupada praised Kirtananda all along. Let us look at the references:

Analysis
Quote 359
Quote 359 is the only quote we can find in Srila Prabhupadaâs books, conversations and letters. However, even this quote is not complete. The full quote gives us a different impression, Srila Prabhupada definitely didnât give instruction to Kirtanananda to stay at New Vrindavan and rape boys. On the contrary, he told him to travel all around the world:
Hayagrīva: How much of his time do you think should be spent doing this?
PrabhupÄda: Which one?
Hayagrīva: Preaching and traveling.
PrabhupÄda: He should always preach and travel. Always. There is immense field here. He should convince people that we are developing such centers. And you make a nice literature, picture. You go. He is educated. He is intelligent. He has studied our philosophy. He can go and speak.
HayagrÄ«va: But he shouldnât stay here at all.
PrabhupÄda: No. He can come. He stay for some time and go, in that way. That⊠When he comes here you take his advice, what to do, and then you execute in that way. The final is yourself, whatever you do. He will come and⊠Now, for developing this center we must require so many things. So he can do the outside work.
And remember, this was 1969, before all the nonsense in New Vrindavan even started. Srila Prabhupada here recommends removing Kirtanananda from New Vrindavan management completely. If this instruction was followed, we would have all the craziness that happened there.
Quote 360
Quote 360 is not actually spoken by Prabhupada. This quote is what Cintamani dasi âthinksâ that Prabhupada said. If she remembers it at all. So, she remembered in 1985 what Srila Prabhupada said in 1969. I am highly doubtful of this. Anecdotal evidence is never to be accepted seriously. I have already written an article how a Mataji âremembersâ that Prabhupada licked her finger, while this event doesnât match testimony from the other book.
Quote 361
This quote was not directly from Srila Prabhupada works, rather, this is what Kuladri das âremembersâ that Srila Prabhupada said. Since Kuiladri das is an accomplice in the murder, I donât know why should I accept his quote. He would sell his own mother just to escape responsibility for the murder of Sulocana. If we accept his quote, we should also start accepting quotes by Al Capone.
So, Kuladri das claims in 1979 that Srila Prabhupada said something in the seventies, he doesnât even know which year. I am highly doubtful about Al Capone quotes with an unknown date.
Quote 362
This quote was not directly from Srila Prabhupadaâs works, rather, it was written by Satsvarupa dasa âGoswamiâ, the author of the porn novel Sanatorium.
This is the same guy who wrote the so-called biography by Srila Prabhupada, where he writes:
âYet even armed with this philosophy, Abhay felt all alone. His two great well-wishers were gone â his father and now his spiritual master.â
(Lilamrta, Vol.1, âA Lifetime in Preparationâ, chapter 4)ââŠyet without his spiritual masterâs physical presence, he felt small and very much alone.â
(Lilamrta,Vol. 1,âA Lifetime in Preparationâ, chapter 9)
I wonder how Satsvarupa knows how Srila Prabhupada felt. Because Srila Prabhupada writes to Trivikrama exactly the opposite:
His telegram reads, âTrivikrama alone, more men required urgently.â I do not understand what he means by alone. What is this alone? Vaisnava is never alone. When I first came to the United States I was seemingly alone for one year. But I never felt alone. I always felt the presence of my Guru Maharaja. Myself, I was cooking, I was printing books, I was selling books, everything seemingly alone. But I did not lose my determination. Actually you should know this, you are never alone. (Letter Trivikrama, Dec 27, 1974)
Quote 363
So, Yasomatinandana âremembersâ in 1981 what Srila Prabhupada said in the morning walk in 1972. However, by 1972, all Srila Prabhupadaâs morning walks were recorded. And we donât find that statement when we look at morning walk transcriptions. Another case of anecdotal evidence.
Quote 364
Ajeya dasa wrote an email in 2014, claims that he remembers what Srila Prabhupada said to him in 1974. This one is the best so far, guy claims that he remembers what Prabhupada told him 40 years ago. I donât remember any conversations from 40 years ago. This is hilarious.
Prabhupada told me 50 years ago, while I was in my previous body, he told me: âDonât trust Ajeya and Henry Doktorskiâ. đ€Łđ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
Quote 365
Mark Mebel remembers in 1987 what Srila Prabhupada said in 1974. Very questionable, copies of letters sent by Prabhupada were kept by his secretary, and there are thousands of Srila Prabhupada letters stored in Folio. But we canât find this particular letter.
Conclusion
With thousands of recorded lectures, thousands of letters, thousands of morning walks recordings, we donât find anywhere that Srila Prabhupada âconsistently praised Kirtanananda Swamiâ. Consistently means regularly, all the time, but we donât find a single piece of evidence in the whole folio about this. Kirtananda is mentioned a thousand times in Srila Prabhupadaâs conversations lectures and letters, but we donât find any evidence of âconstant praiseâ
So, trying to pack responsibility for the Kirtananda monster to Prabhupada is really outrageous idea. First of all, the Kirtanananda monster fully manifested himself after Srila Prabhupada left, and secondly, even while he was here, he messed up badly and Srila Prabhupada reprimanded him, which is exactly the opposite of âconsistent praiseâ:
Please accept my blessings. I am in due receipt of your letter of Oct. 9. I am very sorry to hear that Kirtanananda is advising you to give up the robes and the flags on the head. Please stop this nescience as I never instructed Kirtanananda to act like that. I am not at all satisfied with this action of Kirtanananda. Kirtanananda has no right to instruct you in that way, without consulting me. People are being attracted to the chanting of Hare Krishna & not to Kirtananandaâs devices. Kirtanananda suggested to me when he was here that the Americans do not like the robes & flag. I told him personally if you think that Americans in great numbers will follow you, simply for not having robes & flag, I therefore advised him to drop for a few days in London & test this theory. But he has gone directly to N.Y. & is now causing these disturbances without consulting me. I have not sanctioned these methods. (Letter to Damodara, Oct 13, 1967)
When Krishna controls his diverse energies he does not become impersonal. If KÄ«rtanÄnanda believes in one-Self, why does he stress the vibration & not the words? Why does he find difference in vibration & words? If he believes in one there is no difference between vibration & words? And why shouldnât one be attached to the chanting? All this means that he has no clear idea & he is talking nonsense. If KÄ«rtanÄnanda does not understand this philosophy then better he should stop speaking nonsense. (Letter to Rayarama, Oct 16, 1967)
Contrary to Henryâs anecdotal evidence, these two letters are the actual letters written by Prabhupada.
